Vacancies are region-specific—Northern, Eastern, Southern, Western, and RDSS projects (including Gujarat and Andaman & Nicobar).

Minimum Qualifications:-
Educational & Professional:-
- Engineers (Electrical/Civil): B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg) in relevant discipline with ≥ 55% marks.
- Supervisors (Electrical/Civil/E&C): Full-time Diploma with ≥ 55% marks in relevant discipline. Note: candidates with higher qualifications (B.E/B.Tech etc) will be disqualified from being appointed as supervisor.
Experience:-
- Candidates should have minimum of 1 year of post qualification experience (but not beyond 2 years although will be considered) in areas such as RE/DMS/Sub Transmission/ Transmission Lines/Sub Stations. We’ll prefer candidates from PSU or Listed power-sector Industry experience.
Age Limit:-
Upper age limit: 29 years as on 17 Sept 2025.
- Relaxation on age limit on category basis:
- OBC (NCL): + 3 years
- SC/ST: + 5 years
- PwBD: +10 (UR/EWS), + 13 (OBC), +15 (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen, riot affected people: there will be release as per relevant govt norm.
Different roles have specific sub-categories which are reserved for Persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBDs), which are based on relevant statutory instruments arising from the RPwD Acts, and include arrangements whereby scribes may be provided, and additional time compensations.
Fee Details:-
- INR 400 for Engineer’s position/s,
- INR 300 for Supervisor’s position(s)
NOTE :-Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM categories are exempt from fees.

Salary and Benefits:-
Field Engineers:-
- Salary (Pay Band) for Field Engineers will range from INR 30000/- (basic) +DA +HRA +perks ~35% of basic
- Approx. Annual CTC would be: INR 8.9 lakh
Field Supervisors:-
- Salary (Pay Band) for Field Supervisors will range from INR 23000/- (basic) + DA +HRA +perks ~35%
- Approx. Annual CTC would be: INR 6.8 lakh
In addition, there are benefits of:–
- Annual increments at 3%, Medical insurance coverage, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Gratuity, Leave, Mobile reimbursement, Group Personal Accident insurance, and more.
- If you are successful you may continue be a proper and regular appointment for the continued time period of your employment after a period of 2 years if you have done your work well and there’s a vacancy available.
📝 Recruitment Process for POWERGRID:-
- Online registration on POWERGRID’s Career site.
- Common FTE Written Examination—1 hour, MCQs (75 total: 50 Technical + 25 Aptitude), no negative marking.
- Must achieve ≥ 40% for UR/EWS; ≥ 30% for all other categories.
- Available in English or Hindi.
- Post-Assessment Process
- Will be valid for 1 year.
- Depending on the vacancies available, candidates will be contacted regarding consent to interview (Field Engineers) or to be considered (Supervisors) to be put on the list directly.
Selection & Paneling:-
- Merit list by category (1:5 ratio).
- In case of a tie always the older candidate gets the first option.
- After Document Verification, Offer of Engagement will follow.
- Medical clearance (Company, PCP, RTI) and police verification will be collected after receipt of documents (failure to do any can terminate engagement).

- Upload relevant documents (Passport Photograph, Signature, certificates, proof of experience, documents relating to category/PwBD etc.) in prescribed format and sizes.
- There is a testing center in Bhopal (That’s very close to you!), other testing centers are in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Mumbai.
